Dia duit, Eoin! I am very happy I bought this a couple months ago. Its slow going for me but have already learned a few phrases. The only negative criticism I have is that I would like to see a more through breakdown on pronunciation because it is sometimes hard to hear how some words are said. Otherwise I see it as a good investment.

This post will probably be deleted – but I hope that someone can learn from my misfortune. The teach me program is a good program IF and ONLY IF you have already taken and know the language before. There is little to no direction, explaination or clear cut instructions. and while it may be a good reminder or refresher. I am sadly disappointed — and extremely annoyed – there is no return policy. The packaging is cheap – it is nothing like the “box” that is on the website. You think there would be more explaination but there is not. Each language comes with a copied booklet that has a few “lessons” where you fill in words and a few “stories” written in that language.
It is not for everyone – so buyer beware – hopefully someone will benefit from my misfortune.
I love the Irish language and wanted to learn more – but this is defiantely not the method for me.

i want to learn irish! im half irish and half scottish and im more into the irish side. i hardly see any one irish only around christmas time and my nana and pa are always talking away in gaelic and giving us looks. next year i want to be able to know what there saying. we only get the choice out of french or japenese at school im gonna to beg my mum to buy this!!!

Hey Eoin! I was subscribed to Bitesize Irish this summer, but I didn’t use it enough to make the subscription worth it over more than a few months. I just bought the TeachMe! Popular Package, and I’m really excited to get back into learning Irish, plus Scottish Gaelic and Welsh too!

@Charma – great that you already have a headstart. I think what you might be missing now is it the grammatical building blocks needed to express your own thoughts in the language. Try TeachMe! for lots of such lessons.

Does your program include more than the Pimsluer program? I’ve learned a nice beginning with their program, however, I’d like to learn more and they do not offer any additional lessons. I enjoyed learning with their method and found it remarkable simple – I was amazed how quickly I was able to begin conversations – I attended a Celtic fest and was able to have minimal conversation with some folks. But there is so much more to know and learn. I’d like to know if this would be a good continuence of what I’ve already learned? Thank you.
