A tremendous asset
Redwolf, California, USA. 21 May 2005.![]()
I have found Turas Teanga to be a tremendous asset as my Irish skills have increased. It is not a beginner's program (and it's not intended to be), but for someone who's been studying for a while, it's a fun and addictive way to take your learning to the next level. As an American without access to Irish language classes, I find it particularly helpful...I get to hear Irish spoken naturally and comfortably, in a realistic setting. I find that, every time I watch a program, I understand a little bit more. I sincerely hope they do another season and offer it for purchase also...I will definitely buy it!
The best

This programme, including 2 DVDs of a total of 20 programmes, a textbook, and remedial audio CDs is by far the best set I have seen for intermediate learners of Irish or those who have had Irish in school and are looking for a fun refresher. Its multi-dialect approach is a bit confusing to some, but knowing the differences is key to taking your Irish up to the next level. The combined pricetag is large but a great value - the units can be viewed again and again, with or without subtitles, and the mini-soap "An Grá Faoi Ghlas" is no less than addictive. Buy this and you will not regret it!
