Horrible memories
Fred, Ireland. 19 Jan 2008.

This brings back everything I hate abot Irish In Mick Keegans class and he beating, hitting and kicking us. (Aged 10). It is no wonder I developed a stammer. I get a shiver down my back when I see the book cover. Every copy should be burned.

Great set with an Intuitive Style
Aingeal, Pottsville, PA. 2 Jun 2005.

The Buntús Cainte book and cd set is great for a person new to Irish. It teaches in a style similar to how children learn their first language.

There is basic vocabulary and pictures to illustrate the meanining of the sentences. This book does not focus on grammar but builds vocabulary and the learner intuitively learns basic grammar and sentence construction from examples provided.

This along with a good dictionary and possibly an easy grammar book will help get any beginner off the ground.

Buntús Cainte
Stephen, Northern California, USA. 1 Jun 2005.

While in Ireland a couple of weeks ago, this was recommended by my Irish friends. I purchased all three volumnes with CD and am becoming increasingly confident with pronunciation and structure. As a beginner, with poor grammer skills, I made the mistake of first going to a full blown course heavy in grammer. Here, I've found I can converse with Irish friends who are more than patient. I highly recommend this for raw beginners, but
make sure you get the CD's with it as well.

Great for beginners
Antaine, NJ, USA. 29 May 2005.

This is what Daltaí na Gaeilge starts off its beginners with when it does classes at the local college. The downside is that there is no grammar, and no pronunciation in the book (tho it does have CDs).

I've heard tell of students who used Buntús 1, 2 and 3 as their only text, and managed (along with fluent speaker interaction) to earn their fáinne óir...

I have since started using it to improve my own Irish and cannot believe how much I've learned just from the first half of Vol 1 (I've been studying 8 years) I would call this without question stop #1 for any beginner...
